Solo Certificate: Steve Sundheimer was presented with the largest solo certificate ever presented at SRQ. The special certificate was in honor of Steve’s perseverance in learning to fly. Over two years of concentrated effort, he was rewarded with a solo flight that took place on September 26, 2011. Steve’s instructor was David Speed who was the only person happier than Steve. Al Jensen performed the check flight.

SRQ Instructor Roger Lockwood instructed Duane Grandy who was then soloed by Roger Niolet on April 9th with an electric Falcon 56 he built himself. He is also a commercial pilot in real life and flies a Lear 40 jet from SRQ to Michigan. Please welcome Duane to the club.
