Serenoa Country Club was once again the site of the Golden Eagle Christmas party and once again it was organized, managed and MC’d by Tom Smith. He is really getting good at this stuff. I guess practice does make perfect. Good job Tom!

Appetizers, wine and a cash bar were available starting at 6pm. After a very pleasant hour of socializing, dinner was served at seven. After dinner but before the Scotch Christmas began Squadron Commander John Hall presented the membership with the traditional Commanders gift. This year John chose a Golden Eagle magnetized name badge.

President John Hall and Treasurer Ed Buchholz held one of the shortest meetings on record to present the 2009 annual report.

The Scotch Christmas is always a lot of fun with sham tussles over gift stealing - at least I think they were sham. You judge from the pictures below.

When Don Janssen's number was called we found out that today was his birthday. His wife Terri had arranged with Bill Kimbrell for Bill to make one of his famous planes in a bottle - an exact scale model of Don's soon to completed 1/3 Fokker DVII - even the colors were correct. Did I mention the T-shirt too?
