Meeting Minutes

September 19, 2007

The meeting was called to order by Commander Hall at 7:12 and was followed by the pledge to the flag. Roll was called and 17 members were present.

            The minutes of the Aug 15 were read by Ops officer Chuck Duke. Motion to accept by Mike Winter 2nd by Rodger Niolet vote and passed.

            Treasurers report by Executive officer Buchholz the treasury now stands at $XXX.XX Motion to accept by Rodger Niolet 2nd by Mike Winter vote and passed.

Old business:

             Nov 30, 2007 will be our Christmas party some of the money was collected.

Swap meet Nov 3rd the squadron discussed admission fees and set up charges. There will not be an admission fee. There will be a set up fee of $15.00. The Golden Eagle Sq will provide food. The swap meet will open at 7:30 AM and close at 1:00 PM

Air Fare 2008 

Mike reported that we have permission from SRQ to use the field on April 19 &20.

Bernie Salomon is a rep of the American Cancer Society. They are having a walkathon on Oct 13 at the Sarasota Polo field.

New business: NONE

So the Squadron took a break and will resume with show and tell @ 8:00PM 

Show and tell :

             Don Janssen showed his Fokker D7 1/3 scale. Don showed the great detail he has used in the cockpit machine guns and engine area. This bird will be powered by a 90 CC gas engine. The top wing will span 118” and the model should weigh in at 40lbs.

            Ed Buchholz showed us the engine and drive system for his P39. Just like the real plane the engine will mount behind the pilot. John Hall built and helped to engineer the propeller shaft extensions. This will be run again on Saturday at the field.

            Joe Wright showed us a slide show taken at Fantasy of Flight on Fathers day weekend.

The Squadron voted on show and tell presentations, Don Janssen was the winner. The raffle was won by Ed Buchholz.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:40
