Meeting Minutes
April 21st, 2010
Meeting was called to order by Commander John Hall at 7:10pm. He led the group in the pledge to our flag. There were 15 members in attendance.
Vince read the minutes from the March meeting, there was a motion to accept the minutes by
Roger Niolet and second by Nick Ziroli, motion passed.
Ed Buchholz gave a treasurer’s report. There is a balance of $XXXXX. Motion to accept by Bill Kimbrell, second by Jim Martin. Motion passed.
Old Business: Mike reported on Air Fair 2010 which is coming up next weekend, the 24th & 25th of April. He received a box of Zap CA from Frank Tiano for pilot prizes.
He also reported on several other contributions from various mfr’s.
There will be a field set up “party” this Friday at 2:30.
John Hall reported that the Sarasota Military Academy will not be able to present the colors this year due to a scheduling conflict.
The meet will commence with the National Anthem at 9am sharp with a rendition by Squadron member Joe Fast.
John Hall reported that Troy Built has provided a Cessna Skylane at 50% off the normal price.
It will be raffled off at the meet. The drawing will take place on Sunday afternoon.
Nick Ziroli reported that Balsa USA has provided a kit for a pilot raffle. Each pilot registered will receive a chance to win.
Mike went over the committee assignments for the weekend. It is pretty much the same as in previous years.
Bill Kimbrell notified the local newspaper and TV stations of the event.
There was a ten minute break.
Meeting resumed at 8pm.
John Hall reported on the swap meet to be held on May 22nd. He is preparing a flyer to be posted on the club’s website as well as local distribution.
Vince will check with Yummies donuts to see if they are interested in having their donuts on wheels vehicle at the event.
New Business: Phil Bender reported that the field will be closed the week of May 3rd thru May 10th for extensive county water drainage modifications.
Show and Tell: Mike Winter showed his new Cessna Skylane by Hangar Nine. He made several modifications to the model and he will be bringing it to Top Gun next week.
The 50/50 was won by Tom Smith and he split the prize with Mike Winter for his show and tell Model.
There was no further business and the meeting was adjourned at 8:40pm.
