Meeting Minutes

February 20th, 2008

Meeting was called to order by Squadron Commander John Hall at 7:10pm.

There were 8 members present. John led the group in the pledge to our flag.

Treasurer Ed Buchholz was absent due to recent knee surgery. There was no treasurer’s report.

Ops Officer Vince Veltri read the minutes from the November meeting. There was a motion to accept and it passed.

Old Business: The group voted to approve the acceptance of new member Pat Grella.

There was a motion to approve and it was passed unanimously.

John made contact with Horizon Hobby about prize donations. He was told that all requests for discounts must be submitted through a dealer.

Dave Barry reminded us that we could get a complete KMP Bearcat from Charlie Pangburn for $500, however, the group feels that we should raffle an IMAA Legal

Airplane. There was a motion by Mike Winter to purchase an 81” RTF electric Cub.

Second by Roger Niolet. Motion passed.

Roger arranged to publish our event on RC Universe.

Sarasota Military Academy will again handle the parking.

Vince suggested we play music that relates to flying during the show. Mike appointed Vince as Chairman of the music committee.

New Business: There was a discussion about the weather reporting system. After a lively discussion it was decided to bring the issue up at the next SRQ meeting.

Roger reminded the group that the Venice club is holding there IMAA fly in this weekend. Several of our members will participate on Saturday.

Vince showed a DVD of some flying that was taped by Dave Barry at our field

The 50/50 was won by Dave Barry.

Meeting adjourned at 8:45.
