Meeting Minutes
January 16, 2008
Meeting was called to order at 7:10pm by Squadron Commander John Hall.
He then led the group in the pledge to our flag.
Roll was called by John, there were 10 members present.
There was one guest present, Pat Grella.
Treasurer’s report was given by Ed Buchholz. There was an ending balance of
$XXX.XX
Motion to accept by Mike Winter, second by Bernie Salomon, motion passed.
The Operations Officer, Vince Veltri read the minutes of the last regular meeting which was November 21, 2007.
There was a motion to accept the minutes by Nick Ziroli and second by Bernie Salomon.
Motion passed.
Old Business: Mike gave a report on the annual fly in which will be held on April 19th & 20th. He has received the sanction from AMA and is currently working on sponsors.
The group agreed to allocate $300 for mailing and advertising.
The food concession will again be run by SRQ with any profits going to SRQ.
There was a motion made by Roger Niolet to allow any SRQ member to fly at the event without the need to join the IMAA. However, an IMAA legal airplane is required and the registration fee must be paid.
Motion passed.
There was a discussion on what model to offer for the raffle. It was decided that Nick, Dave and John will look into getting a discount from a manufacturer and a decision will be made at the February meeting.
Roger will advertise the event on RC Universe.
New Business: Prospective new member Pat Grella introduced himself to the group. He is sponsored by Roger Niolet.
There was no further business to discuss and the group took a 10 minute break.
Show and Tell: Mike Winter brought his Ziroli B25 which is just about ready for glassing and finishing. It is the 120” version and will be powered by two G45’s.
The 50/50 drawing was won by John Hall and the show and tell prize was given to Mike Winter. Meeting adjourned at 8:45pm.
