GOLDEN ERA FLY-IN

SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 17, 2011

Twenty-three flyers turned out for the  “Golden Age & Light Plane Fly Inn” on the September 17th.  There was an interesting mix of aircraft ranging from WW-I to golden age types such as a Gee Bee and continuing to modern light planes like the all composite Cirrus.

The weather was great and I believe I had the only crash of the day: my ancient fuel-soaked Aeronca C-3 broke in half on a downwind deadstick. The “Pilots Choice “ award went to Dave Barry’s beautiful Stinson Reliant.

Raffle Prizes: The Hobby Warehouse on Rt. 70 provided an electric  T-34 ARF which was won by Dick Bobb. The new Gator Hobbies (soon to be located on Clark Ave.) donated a 6 channel Futaba Radio won by Brad Termaat.  Gift items for registered flyers: Frank Tiano provided a generous supply Zap products and Nick Ziroli donated hats and modeling CD’s.

Thanks to the many club members who helped make this an enjoyable and successful event.  David Hasler, CD
