SRQ MEMBERSHIP MEETING MINUTES
 
June 26th, 2019
  • Call to order: 7:04 PM

  • President DeRoy’s Report:

    • Dr. Haas will handle all duties regarding the fire index for turbine jet aircraft.

    • CD John Hall confirmed that sanctions have been obtained and all systems are a go for the Golden Age (Oct.5) and Warbird (Dec.7) Fly-Ins. John passed out event flyers.

    • In VP Sundheimer’s absence, President DeRoy advised the hurricane insurance situation is still not finalized.

  • Treasurer Dennis’ financial report for May 2019 was accepted as presented without objection.

  • Current membership is 168.

  • Secretary Hasler advised that the June BOD meeting minutes had been posted on the SRQ website.

  • New and Old Business:

    • President DeRoys proposed having occasional weekend picnics at the field in order to use up leftover hot dogs and hamburgers.

    • President DeRoy proposed a November swap meet as a fund raiser.

    • As a means of getting better meeting attendance, a trial Saturday morning membership meeting will be held on October 19 or 26 at the club field.

  • Entertainment Program:

    • Video: The Unlikely Flight of Taffy Holden.

  • Call to order: 6PM

  • BOD members present:

    • Martin DeRoy

    • Steve Sundheimer

    • Dave Hasler, Keith Dennis

    • Mike Cameron

    • Lou Magliano

    • Anthony Lassiter

  • The May financial report was accepted without revision as presented by Treasurer Dennis.

  • The May BOD meeting minutes were accepted as written by Secretary Hasler and published on the club web site.

  • New and old business

  • An errors and omissions report must be submitted to the insurance company by November of this year.

  • CD John Hall has secured AMA sanctions for the Light Plane and Golden Age Fly In and the Warbird Fly In.

  • Keith Dennis and Mike Cameron are working on the new club PC/simulator with completion estimated for June 2019.

  • Preident DeRoy will research both securing club field WiFi and real-time viewing of the security cameras.

  • The changing of the maintenance building lock code was discussed ,but no action taken at this time.

  • VP Sundheimer is awaiting the final disposition and settlement of the hurricane insurance payment.

  • It was decided that a go/no go advisory for turbine jet flight will be posted weekly on the club web site based on the KBDI Drought Index.

  • BOD has OK’d a trial monthly membership meeting to be held on Saturday morning at the club field in October instead of at the Twin Lakes Facility..

  • Club membership: 168
