SRQ MEMBERSHIP MEETING MINUTES
 
March 2016
  • President Sundheimer called the meeting to order at 7:06 pm. 27 members were in attendance. Don Janssen led the Pledge of Allegiance.

  • President Sundheimer’s asked for officer and committee reports:

    • Without objections or changes, the secretary’s minutes from February were accepted.

    • Treasurer Keith Dennis delivered the February financials. Accepted as read.

  • V.P. Dave Hasler reported:

    • Tonight’s raffle is a ‘plug & play’ radiant glider.

    • Tonight’s presentation by Jack Duich is on the construction of the X35’s canopy.

  • Dick Bobb reported no maintenance issues.

  • Membership chairman, Mike Pass reported 264 members to date and that the software to convert from Axcess has been installed.

  • Al Jensen presented Jerry Stacey his solo certificate.

  • Old Business:

    • The membership revisited the SW corner boundary marker. After detailed discussion, a motion was made and seconded: ‘With permission from the county, move the orange traffic cone to the center of the west boundary.’ The motion was defeated nine (9) to two (2). 16 abstained. It was suggested that the current marker cone be re-painted and/or taped with reflective tape to enhance its visibility.

  • The X35 program was enjoyed by all – our thanks to Jack Duich for his presentation and Q & A.

  • The members celebrated Norm Harris’ 95th birthday.

  • Mike Pass won the raffle glider.

  • The meeting was adjourned at 8:45 pm

SRQ BOARD MEETING MINUTES
 
March 7th, 2016
  • President Sundheimer called the meeting to order at 6:01pm. All members were present.

  • Treasurer’s Report:

    • Keith presented the February financials It was suggested that the ‘miscellaneous’ expenses be itemized.

  • Vice President’s Report:

    • The March Membership Meeting program is Jack Deutch’s presentation of the manufacturing of the F35 Fighter Canopy. March’s raffle to be determined. It was advised that Gator Hobbies is closing and that the remaining gift certificates be used to purchase items for the raffle.

  • Committee Reports:

    • Maintenance:

      • Defibrillator training will be scheduled.

      • Since the 2” X 8’ boards used for the sunshields are no longer needed, they will be offered to the membership.

    • Membership:

      • Mike Pass will be 2016 membership chairman and Keith Dennis will co-chair.

      • The board authorized to purchase the necessary Microsoft Office software.

  • Safety:

    • No new issues.

  • New Business:

    • The board clarified the FAA registration motion passed at the February Membership Meeting. Event applications will require each participant to put his/her FAA registration number. No one may participate without their number on the application and plane(s).nA blast email will be sent to SRQ RC membership advising all members to register with FAA now. FAA registration will be required for 2017 membership.

  • The meeting was adjourned at 6:44 pm .
