SRQ BOARD MEETING MINUTES

November 5, 2014

  • Vice President Hasler called the meeting to order at 7:14 pm with Steve Sundheimer , Vince Veltri , and Alden Fonseca not attending.

  • At the Vice Presidents request the minutes of the last membership meeting were approved and entered into the record.

  • The VP then recognized treasurer Martin DeRoy who presented the financial report for October which was discussed and approved and entered into the record.

  • VP Hasler then made the board aware that the Graupner gliders which are being used as raffle items no longer can be awarded with motors since the remaining electric motors are too large for the aircraft, It was suggested that these motors be offered for sale to club members or themselves be offered as raffle items.

  • VP Hasler then pointed out that the October membership meeting will not have any entertainment since it will be the election meeting. There will be a raffle, however.

  • The subject of trying to interest more of our membership in learning to build their own models was brought up. It was pointed out that our club has some world class modelers who would be willing to pass on their considerable knowledge to those who might be interested in learning.  A "building committee" or advisory group of some sort might be formed to function as a source for those who would be interested in getting into the other half of our hobby; the half that many old timers consider to be the best part.

  • There being no further business VP Hasler adjourned the meeting at 7:43.
